Li-ion LiFePO4 Marine Battery

Introduction

Lithium-Iron Phosphate, or LiFePO4 Deep-Cycle batteries, are another alternative to Lead-Acid or AGM Deep-Cycle batteries. While LiFePO4 batteries have a much higher upfront cost than Lead-Acid or AGM, there are many features that may make the investment worthwhile for your setup. For many in today's market, LiFePO4 batteries are the battery of choice for serious deep-cycle applications.

Lithium-Iron Phosphate batteries are less than half the weight of their lead acid competitors. In most cases, LiFePO4 batteries can also be discharged up to 80% and more without affecting the cycle life of the battery. The cycle life of these deep-cycle batteries can also be up to 3x-5x longer than that of their Lead-Acid counterparts. These batteries can also be charged 2x-3x faster due to their ability to safely accept a higher charging current.
