What types of lithium batteries are there?
Lithium batteries affect every aspect of our lives in our lives. The mobile phones we use, the computers we use, the electric cars we use for travel, and the power banks we use, etc., are all filled with lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are mainly divided into four types: lithium iron phosphate batteries, lithium manganese oxide batteries, ternary polymer lithium batteries, and lithium cobalt oxide batteries. At present, there are three kinds of lithium batteries in mainstream use, mainly lithium iron phosphate batteries, manganese lithium batteries, and ternary polymer lithium batteries.
lithium battery
1. Lithium batteries are classified according to their appearance: there are square lithium batteries (such as commonly used mobile phone battery cells) and cylindrical lithium batteries (such as 18650 batteries).
2. Lithium battery outsourcing materials are divided into: aluminum shell lithium battery, steel shell lithium battery, soft pack battery.
3. Lithium batteries are divided into positive and negative electrode materials (additives): Lithium oxide (LiCoO2) batteries or lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4), lithium iron phosphate batteries, disposable manganese dioxide lithium batteries; another point: lithium ion LIB, Polymer PLB
The characteristics of lithium battery
1. Higher weight-to-energy ratio and volume-to-energy ratio;
2. The voltage is high. The voltage of a single lithium battery is 3.6V, which is equal to the series voltage of 3 NiCd or NiMH rechargeable batteries;
3. Small self-discharge can be stored for a long time, which is the outstanding advantage of this battery;
4. No memory effect. Lithium batteries do not have the so-called memory effect of nickel-cadmium batteries, so lithium batteries do not need to be discharged before charging;
5. Long lifespan. Under normal working conditions, the number of charge/discharge cycles of lithium batteries is much greater than 500;
6. It can be charged quickly. Lithium batteries can usually be charged with a current of 0.5 to 1 times the capacity, shortening the charging time to 1 to 2 hours;
7. Can be used in parallel at will;
8. Since the battery does not contain heavy metal elements such as cadmium, lead, and mercury, it has no pollution to the environment and is a contemporary advanced green battery;
9. High cost. Lithium batteries are expensive compared to other rechargeable batteries.
