faults and Treatment Methods of Lithium Forklift Battery-Temperature faults

1, thermal management fault

 heating film fault 

  when the cell temperature is below a certain value, the heating does not open when charging. 

 Cause of fault: 

 ①heating relay or BMS fault; 

 ②heating film or relay power supply circuit is abnormal. 

 Treatment: 

①Repair or replace heating relay or BMS; 

② check and repair power supply circuit. cooling failure (fan); the fan is not working after the temperature is above a certain value. 

cooling fault (fan)

the fan is not working after the temperature is above a certain value.

Cause of fault: 

 ①the fan relay or BMS fault;

 ② the fan or relay power supply circuit is abnormal. 

Treatment method:

①Repair or replace the fan relay or BMS ; 

②check and repair the abnormal power supply circuit .

cell temperature high

one or several cells' temperature are higher and reaches the alarm threshold during operation or charging. 

Cause of fault:

① temperature sensor fault; 

② BMS fault; 

③ abnormal connecting cause local heating; 

④fan not on, poor heat dissipation; 

⑤close to heat source such as motor; 

⑥ over-charging. 

Treatment method:

① measure and compare the real resistance value of the temperature sensor to the read value. If       the real value is lower and the same as other cells' temperature value, calibrate the BMS  temperature value to real value; 

②tighten the connecting points and clear them; 

③ensure the fan opening; 

④increase heat insulation from heat source;

⑤ stop operation for heat dissipation; 

⑥ stop charging immediately; 

⑦replace BMS. 

cell temperature low

some or several cells'temperature are lower to reach the alarm threshold during operation or charging. 

Cause of fault

① temperature sensor fault; 

②BMS fault; 

③ local heating film is abnormal. 

Treatment method: 

① measure and compare the real resistance value of the temperature sensor with the read value. If      the actual value is higher and the same as other temperature values, the BMS temperature value       is calibrated by the real value; 

② check and repair the heating film; 

③replace BMS.
